CATALOG TO THE EXHIBITION "SUPER MATTER"

The utopian idea, the blind dream of Man to find the philosopher's stone, to turn metal into gold (and water into wine) is in its essence a rebellion, a state of constant revolution continued in time against natural superiority and unquestioning primacy in the creation and recreation of oneself. And a modern alchemist is an artist who is prudently called a creator, imitating and repeating the moment of natural creativity.

Vladislav Mukhanov, like a great scientist who does not know the final result of his experiment, thinks accurately and scientifically - in his works exposing physical and mathematical laws, he subordinates and appropriates them in search of supermatter - a synthesis of natural and technical, creative and mechanical. Balls with an enclosed biomorphic substance, anthropomorphic images and pseudo-plants coexist in their own microcosm right on the border with our natural reality. Autonomous processes take place in it, dividing their authorship in a modernist way between a 3D printer, galvanic processes and randomness. As if miraculous objects of the "GMO", "Epsilon" and "Zeta" series are works of a future alchemical victory over matter and a fantasy about supermatter. The unnatural substrate of copper artificially grown by man merges with natural elements - stone, wood, plant - like a Trojan horse, replacing natural processes with technogenic ones. The subtle textures of the series "The Cycle of Nature" - the skull of a bull twisted in a perverted fractal pattern - about the same. About the ability to disassemble and reassemble nature, and therefore the world.

Supermatter is a fantasy about an alternative in which a person simulates nature and is the author of a set of laws for the synthetic world. Supermatter is both a fear of all-consuming infinity and reproducibility around, and a bold attempt to appropriate this way of survival and creativity. Supermatter is a chance to be whole, not a short-term part.
