COSMOSCOW 2022 x DIDI GALLERY

This year, the concept of the DiDi Gallery booth is based on thinking about the surrounding space and its textures, one way or another resonating with the current world and our perception.

By tradition combining the art of Leningrad non-conformism and the contemporary St. Petersburg art scene we present three artists: Evgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko, Alexander Kipsone and Artem Maksimov.

The work of the first of them becomes the starting point in thinking about the plane, not only within the framework of the stand, but also of all Soviet art in the middle of the last century.

Alexander Kipsone, an artist with a street art background, weaves texts and symbols into simple layers and textures, at the same time referring to historical mural painting and the collective voice of ordinary street walls.

Artem Maksimov, a ceramist, also works with the mythology of urban spaces, depicting couriers, gopniks, Khrushchevs, and riot police in aesthetic ceramic figurines in white and gold glaze. Abstract painting will become a context and environment for the ironically aestheticized heroes of urban folklore.
